Ryan Walsh, blogger and quilter extraordinare, offered to feature me again on his blog and I jumped at the chance. If you haven't followed him, you really should, he always has great posts about what is going on in the quilting industry and is incredibly creative.
If that isn't enough of incentive, you can visit Ryan and peruse my literary skill (or lack thereof - I should probably stick to designing), because I wrote a poem about my new patterns. Yes I did. Don't judge. My experience writing poems is only about as extensive as my experience writing corny treasure hunt clues for our children. It is amazing how our better judgement goes out the window at 2am. If nothing else it will give you a good laugh.
Did you know there are rhyming dictionaries on the internet? Yes, there are. That is my new discovery this week.
To celebrate, I am doing a giveaway of a copy of ALL eight of my new patterns! And so is Ryan - and he has two sets of patterns to give away! To enter here, leave a comment (only one) on this post telling me which of my new patterns is your favorite and what collection you might make it in. Your choices are:
Oh - and you must be a follower and leave me a way to contact you should you win. (If I can reach 1000 followers we meaning myself, my husband, my International Director of Shipping, and my Chief Presser - will have to celebrate around here! Pie, anyone?)
Winner will be chosen on by the random number generator. Deadline to enter is this Monday, the 21st, at midnight. This giveaway is not closed - thanks to all who entered!
Happy sewing!
Amanda
P.S. All patterns are now available at the Fat Quarter Shop!
I can't possibly choose just one because I really like both Bejeweled and Caramel and Cocoa. I can't say which fabrics I'd choose to use because I really need to dream and think and think some more--because choosing fabrics is a big part of why I make quilts--wouldn't want to rush that part!
ReplyDeleteI've always like Village Green since I first saw it, but I also like the Garden Sampler pattern. I think I'd use Veranda. thanks for the chance to win some beauties!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great give away, Amanda. I have been eyeing off bejeweled for a while and would love to make it in terrain.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
Garden Jewels is my favorite♥ I like the size because lap-sized throws are just too small to snuggle under; yours is perfect for me!
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to choose
ReplyDelete1)Bedazzled - Veranda (have pinks - need more fabric in blues/purples/greens)
2)Beribboned - Sew Cherry (probably have enough)
My pick would be Garden Jewels and I have no idea about the fabric. Thanks for the very generous giveaway.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pattern of yours is Garden Paths. Of your new patterns, I would have to choose Bejeweled. I think the quilt would look great with Mochi Yum Yum fabric. Thanks for the giveaway. (I am a follower.)
ReplyDeleteI really like Garden Jewels
ReplyDeleteand think that it would rules
if made with Amelia by Me and My Sister
I would also be happy if I owned
a pattern called Beribboned.
To be made with Northcott Design
the Boys at work line.
I am not a poet by trade either but thought that I should support your effort.
Great interview over at Ryan's.
caramel and cocoa, Caramel and Cocoa, CARAMEL AND COCOA!!
ReplyDeleteI want to make it in trendy grey and yellow in the worst way. I'm also dying to make it in monotone. I'm 'collection blind', so I'm no help there.
But, dang it, I love beflowered, too.
No. I'm sticking with my original decision of Caramel and C... oh, Cafe Mocha. That one is so nice.
No... Caramel and Cocoa.
bejewed is my favorite; i have a pear tree bundle coming in that needs a pattern, it should make some nice jewels for this pattern.
ReplyDeletei'm one of your happy followers, hoping you'll make that 1000!
My new favorite is Bejeweled! I do love them all though even if I do have to pick just one. lol I would use Veranda because it's one of my favs too.
ReplyDeleteI love Beflowered and would like to make it in Butterscoth & Roses! Thanks for the chance to win :)
ReplyDeleteI love Garden Jewels and I think it would look awesome in Terrain by Kate Spain
ReplyDeleteI like the Garden Jewels and I have not think of the fabric. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteHi Amanda, you are so awesome!!! I would make Beflowered with Veranda/ Thank you for your generosity.
ReplyDeleteI really like Garden Jewels and I would use the new Hello Luscious from Moda to make it. :)
ReplyDeleteI love all, but would choose Cafe Mocha and use some of French Generals Fabrics, perhaps Rouenneries 2?
ReplyDeleteGarden Jewels is my favourite and I think it would look great in Terrain!!
ReplyDeleteIt's Garden Jewels for me too!
ReplyDeleteI'll definitely do what I can to help you get some pie!
ReplyDeleteMy favorites are Caramel and Cocoa and Cafe Mocha. I think I'd use something bright and colorful, but not sure what!
I really love the Carmel and Cocoa quilt pattern! I have been thinking about using Prince Charming for this, but it would also be stunning in a very modern print like Echo. Thanks so much for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteWow Amanda this was a tough choice: Cafe Mocha for the pattern & colors and I also love Beflowered which would be challenging and fun! Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteWell if all of your patterns weren't so wonderful this would be easy, you had to go and make it difficult. I will have to say Bejeweled made with Veranda would be my choice but I am still in major love with garden paths
ReplyDeleteI love your beflowered...it is so sweet and I am thinking using Veranda (my latest acquisition) would be fitting to be the centre flowers...and use solids like you did! I think it would be awesome for mummy and daughters to cuddle in .... hehehe
ReplyDeleteIt is difficult to choose but I would love to make Bejeweled in Veranda, I think it would be a fantastic combo. Thanks for a lovely giveaway.
ReplyDeleteIt would have to be Garden Jewels and would love to try it in batiks. Thanks for the give away.
ReplyDeleteI love all your patterns but my fave is GARDEN JEWELS!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this chance!!!
I especially like Beribboned and Bejeweled. Great patterns.
ReplyDeleteIt's so hard to pick just one, I love Garden Sampler and Bejeweled. Maybe I would start out with Garden Sampler using Ambrosia. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteHow to pick one??? I really enjoy your style in general, but if I must go with one, I'd saw Garden Jewels beating out Garden Paths by a stitch...
ReplyDeleteHmmmm, so many gorgeous choices! Village green though i think! Although, they are all absolutely lovely!
ReplyDeleteMy fav is got to be Garden Jewels and would love to try it in aqua , red fabrics. Thanks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteThis is a difficult choice the patterns are all great. I love the bejeweled and love the fabric in the pattern.
ReplyDeleteThis is easy...Garden Sampler and I would use Morning Tides! Fingers crossed
ReplyDeleteGarden Jewels is my first choice. thank you !
ReplyDeleteI'd love the Beribboned and Garden Jewels with your selection of fabrics :D
ReplyDeleteThanks for the sweet giveaway!
Garden ewels is my first choice.. just something about the genius of how you set those blocks blows my mind!!
ReplyDeleteBeflowered. I have no idea what I would make it in. I just know I would use a lot of bright solids.
ReplyDeleteBeribboned is lovely! I'd like to make it in Cattails and Clover using a Kona solid as a background-maybe Butter.
ReplyDeleteGarden Sampler is my favorite not sure what fabric I would use. Thanks for the giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteHmmmmm.....maybe Caramels and Cacao with Etchings. I think any of your patterns with any collection would be fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI would pick Garden Jewels in the Swiss Chocolate Mocha colorway because that would fantastic in my bedroom in my new house. Thanks for the chance to win.
ReplyDeleteI love the garden jewels pattern. I would like to quilt it in Sandy Henderson's Tea Time Garden collection. I love those patterns and colors!
ReplyDeleteLove them all, but, Garden Jewels has my vote. Can't wait to make it.
ReplyDeleteBeflowered in Veranda. That would be a fun project. I might make it for the sofa for spring time. It still gets a little chilly in the spring evenings and a pretty quilt on the back of the sofa would be just the thing.
ReplyDeletesewbeads (at yahoo.com)
Yes I am definitely a follower of your blog. I have simply loved your Cafe Mocha pettern for a long time now. I am thinking of using Robert Kaufman's line - maybe the Allegro and Countryside Artisan Batks. I could aways change my mind later. But right now, those colors are what I want to go with the Cafe Mocha pattern. A chance to win all 8 of your patterns. What a gift to treasure. What quilter wouldn't want to win such a gift. WOW - Thank you.
ReplyDeleteSandi T.
sandit1@sbcglobal.net
I believe I would make Garden Sampler first. It would be wonderful using Patricia Bravo's Modernology.
ReplyDeleteI am liking the new patterns very much.
LOL Loved your poem at Ryan's! I remember writing rhymes for our kids when homeschooling....scavenger hunts, Christmas activities, and more! What fun! Hey, the pie sounds great - I can be in Charlotte in about 90 minutes, so save me a piece and I'll celebrate with you and bring some cider! Heehee!
ReplyDeleteOK, now to the hard part....choosing one of your patterns! Ummm, oh this is hard. It's a tie between Beflowered and Beribboned...those have called to me since you showed them on your blog! I'm a follower!
I would make beribboned, in solids (Kona, Bella? either, whatever :) - probably in pastels for a girl.
ReplyDeleteLove them all but if I have to choose just one, Garden Jewels.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to do it in greys, citron and maybe white.
Beflowered in Ambrosia! What a great way for me to look towards SPRING
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteBewitched - Bothered - and Bewildered is how I feel right now to choose one of your beautiful designs but if I had to then it would be Beflowered (did you see that coming) while munching on Caramel and Chocolate and drinking a Cafe Mocha in the beautiful solids that you show. And your poetry isn't all that bad, either. I also follow you. Thanks. KatheGTN at aol dot com
ReplyDeleteGood Friday Morning Amanda! Hard time choosing between the airy beauty of Beribboned and the neat weave of Cafe Mocha as my first fave. I have some of your Chocolate prints, but needing some Veranda would give me an excuse to buy fabric. Have a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteBejeweled in veranda.
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for the chance to win.
OMG, does one have to pick one - Bedazzeled is telling me I need to use up my Fig Tree fat quarters, yet Cafe Mocoa is telling me my Sweetwater blue and brown fat quarters want to jump into this a quilt. I have been waiting for the right inspiration. Love them all. Thank you for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI love the beribboned or deflowered, but i don't know what line i'd use yet, id really need to think about that one!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love the Cafe Mocha pattern and would probably use Blueberry Crumb Cake for it. Thanks for the chance.
ReplyDeleteI like the new look of your blog.
ReplyDeleteI have a hard time picking just one pattern.
I am going to pick Beribboned.
What a great giveaway. I just love "Garden Jewels" in the Swiss Chocolate Mocha Line.
ReplyDeleteI am in LOVE with Bejeweled. I have no idea what fabric line I'd use because I have so many favorites right now...maybe Terrain by Kate Spain. I could probably use that fabric for anything though.
ReplyDeleteI could see myself making Bejeweled. Out of batik of course. Unless you send me some of your gorgeous fabric with the winning patterns.
ReplyDeleteWow! What an awesome giveaway! I'm in love with your Garden Jewels pattern. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFavorite pattern is garden paths and love to make it up in the Ambrosia fabrics. Got to go shopping for some fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love Beflowered but I really love Cafe Mocha - not in coffee colors though. I'd make it in pinks & greens with a little mocha mixed in> Thanks.
ReplyDeleteThis is great, I love the Caramel and Cocoa, I would try it with Etchings from Moda. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMy choice would be Garden Jewels in Swiss Chocolate collection. Thanks for the giveaway chance!

Right now I think I'll choose Beribboned. It would look nice in the RWB stash I've been collecting to make a quilt for the Veterans Home.
ReplyDeleteLOVE them all, but Bejeweled is probably my favorite. The yoyos would be a great stash-buster -- as if it were actually possible to use up my stash!
ReplyDeleteBeflowered, but Bejeweled is a very close second. Love them all!
ReplyDeleteGarden Jewels is my fave. Would make it in the Veranda fabric line. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think I'd go with Cafe Mocha in Veranda. Thanks for the giveaway!

ReplyDeleteLisa
I love the Garden Jewels the most, but they are all gorgeous! I'd do it in Veranda. Thanks for the opportunity to win.=)
ReplyDeleteI love Beflowered! It is so bright and cheery. I think I'd make it in solids. I love the colors you used.
ReplyDeleteThanks!
There is now way that I could choose just one pattern. Each pattern has something that appeals to me, I just love the way you bring a modern twist to your patterns. Thanks for a great giveaway!
ReplyDeleteI like Bejeweled - and I'd do it in scraps with a coordinating solid, not just one line of fabric.
ReplyDeleteI really love the Bedazzled pattern-- not only the pattern, but the colors you used in it! I think it would be stunning done in those same tones, so I would love to use the lavender and green tones in your Veranda line!! Wouldn't that be absolutely GORGEOUS!! :-) Thanks for this generous giveaway!! :-)
ReplyDeleteIf I could only choose one favorite, it would be Bedazzled. But Bejeweled is close behind!! No fabric choices, yet, b/c these patterns would look great in just about any fabric!
ReplyDeleteI love garden sampler. hugs
ReplyDeleteI love beflowered - and I'd love to try it by flipping the colored fabric to the flower, and some combination of white/off white/cream for the background.
ReplyDeleteGreat poem!
sara dot hynek at yahoo dot com
I love Bejeweled. I think it would look great in Citron Grey. Thank you so much for a chance to win ALL of the patterns. Whohoo!
ReplyDeleteFavorite Patterns: Bedazzled and Cafe Mocha - I couldn't decide!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the functionality of your website www.amandamurphydesign.com! Of your newest designs, I like:
1. Veranda, especially the lavender colorway
2. All of Swiss Chocolate, but esp. the 04 and 12 scroll tiles and the 20 leaf swirl.
3. Ambrosia: the o5 and 11 circles.
Oh, and your poem!
I'm liking Caramel and Cocoa pattern.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fabric, I'm thinking Swiss Chocolate would be awesome for this pattern. The bad thing is that I just purchased a bunch of Veranda from the Fat Quarter shop! I wonder if I could make do with this line? :-)
Thank you for a chance to win!
It's a hard decision, but Garden Sampler is my favorite, a close second Caramel and Cocoa...
ReplyDeleteMY FAVORITE PATTERN IS "GARDEN JEWELS"+I WOULD CHOOSE "DELIGHTED" AS THE FABRIC!
ReplyDeleteTHANKS FOR SHARIANG!

ReplyDeleteI want to win all of those patterns, so pick me!!
ReplyDeleteI like all of them, but especially Garden Paths....in Butterscotch and Roses, please!
ReplyDeleteAwfully tough to pick a favorite, but I think I'd choose Caramel and Cocoa, and I'd make it in a variety of solids. (PS. You do a love job of patterns--diagram, photos and directions--very easy to follow along!)
ReplyDeleteHard choice but I think I am Bedazzled by all the new patterns and your poem on Ryan's page. Thanks for sharing your talents with us.
ReplyDeleteCaramel and Cocoa, just like you made it, please! Thanks for such a generous giveaway. Love your new blog look :)
ReplyDeleteI really like Garden Jewels and would use Moda Origins fabrics that I have been saving to make it. Thaks for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm liking the bejeweled. I have no idea what collection I would make it in, there are so many that I love. I would decide while shopping. ;-)

ReplyDeleteMy favorite(pattern, not pie!) is Beflowered, but I really love the quilts with you own fabric too. Your new blog "look" is pretty stunning too by the way:)

ReplyDeleteYou make it so hard to decide, but I think I have narrowed it down to "Beflowered" and I would like to use the Hoffman Tropicals and Conversationals with the bright colors.
ReplyDeleteWell, choice on only one is very hard, but after much hesitation between Bejewelled and Garden Jewels, I think I'd go for Garden Jewels. Congratulations on being invited to feature on Ryan's blog! I believe you Garden Veranda fabric collection would be perfect for this quilt.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your note and congratulations about the new baby to come.
That's an easy one. Definitely Veranda in the Garden Sampler!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!

ReplyDeleteI think the Bejeweled pattern in Swiss Chocolate would be fun to do. It would be an entirely different look. I love the Garden Paths pattern, also.
ReplyDeleteLovely patterns, lovely fabrics!
I am a follower and love all your patterns especially Garden Sampler - beautiful fabric combination and design.
ReplyDeleteHi, I love your patterns. Village Green and Garden Sampler are my favorites. Since I have lots of Amy Butler I would use her fabrics for the Village Green. ReplyDeleteThese are so beautiful! I like Bejeweled in Ambrosia!
ReplyDeleteI love bubbles because I am dying to do quilt with circle and I would make in the Veranda fabric.
ReplyDeleteJust the names make my drool! Cafe Mocha with some Swiss Chocolate...yum!!!
ReplyDeleteThese are great patterns! I would like a scrappy version of Beribboned in aquas and lime greens. Or Cafe Mocha to feature the gorgeous fabrics in the Terrain line.
ReplyDeleteBejeweled is my favorite, it was hard to choose but i love dots, spots, blots, pots, and all other rhymes. scarlette shobbs@vcu.edu

ReplyDeleteTonight, my choice would be Bejeweled in Taza. Tomorrow, it might change--not the pattern, but the fabric, because so many would look good done up in Bejeweled.
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower.
wordygirl at earthlink dot net
My favorite pattern is Beribboned. I would like to make it in Swiss Chocolate, because I love the name of the collection, and I love pinks and browns.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite pattern is Garden Jewels and I would make it in Ruby. The white background would make the prints from Ruby just POP!
ReplyDeleteTough choice, but it would have to be Bejewelled...I loved it the moment I fist saw it.
ReplyDeleteI would do it in the new Blackbird Designs Blueberry Crumb Cake.
I love Bejeweled and as I was lucky enough to win some of your Veranda fabric line on the Sew we Quilt blog that is what I would use to make it.
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and would love to enter the draw please.
Thank you,
Margaret
It is seriously hard to choose a favorite Amanda. I really love almost every single one for a different reason. Having said that however, the Garden Sampler would be perfect I think for some fabric I bought a year ago and have been searching for the perfect pattern to use. I bought the fabric before I read/learned enough about quilting to realize almost all the fabrics were large prints which would be difficult to use in a quilt. I think this pattern would work though because of the large areas of rectangular block.
ReplyDeleteThis has been a secret project I wanted to make for my husband who is a Former Marine. All the fabrics are Marine Corp. quilting fabrics. I've wanted to make him a lap quilt using those although given the fact he is 6'6" tall a 'lap' quilt for him is more comparable to a twin sized bed quilt. LOL This pattern looks like it would be perfect. I think it would be awesome using those fabrics.
Beflowered, me thinks, is my favorite pattern -- at least for this moment :-) I have a little collection of "modern" fabrics of this and that color, and I think this would make a gorgeous scrappy quilt!
ReplyDeleteOh, i really love them all - but right now I'm drawn to the Cafe Mocha and I would also make it in the Swiss Chocolate line:) Then I would use the Strawberres... I can't remember the name of the line ugh - to make Caramel and Cocoa. Wonderful patterns!
ReplyDeleteThat are all beautiful, but I think I like Bejweled the best!
ReplyDeleteI love Beflowered, I would use Terrain!
ReplyDeleteI love Beribboned, Cafe Mocha and Bejeweled...oh what the heh...love them all!
ReplyDeleteI think Garden Jewels with Flora would be lovely. Cafe Mocha with Power Pop would be cute too.
ReplyDeleteIm in love with Garden Jewels with Bedazzled as a close second. I would love to use some stripes in them . Thnaks for the great giveaway . Piecefully Carol Fiberdiva@verizon.net
ReplyDeleteI just love Caramel and Cocoa. I think it would look really great in any collection but I really love Swiss Chocolate!!
ReplyDeleteI love Cafe Mocha. I have a pile of Soul Blossoms fabric sitting, waiting for me to decide on a pattern!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great giveaway!
I love Caramel and Cocoa. I would love to make it in yellow and aqua!
ReplyDeleteSo hard to choose! I narrowed it down to 2: Cafe Mocha and Garden Jewels. I'd make Garden Jewels out of my large stash of reproduction fabrics, and not sure what I'd make Cafe Mocha out of, but I love the basket weave texture of the quilt!! Thanks for the giveaway!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the terrific giveaway. Your poem is as beautiful as your fabrics and patterns. If I were lucky enough to win, I'd make Caramel and Cocoa with Blueberry Crumb Cake. I believe that would be lucious.
ReplyDeleteI would pick Bejeweled and use your Veranda Collection to make it sparkle with color.
ReplyDeleteI would make Cafe Mocha , I've been dying to use your Swiss Chocolate line. I think it would be great!
ReplyDeleteBeflowered would be my choice.
ReplyDeletemystica123athotmaildotcom

ReplyDeleteI love bejeweled and think it would be fun to make in the new veranda collection!
ReplyDeleteHad to think a day first before choosing my favorite Caramel and Cocoa! I hope you get to 1000 - I am a follower and pie is the best to celebrate with! thanks for the lovely giveaway!!
ReplyDeleteCaramel and cocoa!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the Cafe Mocha, and would use up some of my stash to make it. Thanks for the giveaway. Kathie L in Allentown
ReplyDeleteI like Beribboned...there is neat motion in that one. I'm not sure of a specific collection yet, but I'd do it in cheerful 30s prints and solids.
ReplyDeleteI love Caramel and Cocoa, and think I would have to make it in Veranda making it less Caramel and Cocoa and more berrylike!
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love them all, truely. I would have to start with beflowered and hmmm not sure what collection of fabric. I have to say I love the fabric you have pictured on the pattern.
ReplyDeleteBeflowered and Garden Jewels - I can't decide which I like best! I love Veranda so much and wish I could see some in person. I have no idea where to find some. Thank you for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love Garden Jewels! I think I would make it scrappy. Thanks for the chance to win!
ReplyDeleteI love Beribboned and I hope to make it in the new "St Ives" by Sarah fielke.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to make either in Veranda or Ambrosia
I'm a follower - & Happy Thanksgiving!
