I tend to buy yardage more than pre cuts. Being a fabric addict, the more fabric I have the better.
I like all pre-cuts but Fat Quarters are my favourite, they give me more options with their bigger size. I'm a follower of yours, thanks for the giveaway.
I follow your blog. I love using FQs!! Thanks for the chance to win!
I'm really enjoying jelly rolls lately so much fun.
Out of your choices I would prefer fq's. thanks for the chance to win. I am a follower via email
Right now I love the jelly rolls. Thanks for the give away.
If I had unlimited money, it would be fat quarters of course, but as it is, I would generally choose 10" squares, or charm packs.
Please enter me into your giveaway :)
I usually get fat quarters. I find them more user friendly. I'm a follower by email.
lyn.robyn.smith@gmail.com
I love fat quarters. You can do so many different types of shapes with them and still have a little left-over to do something else. I am a follower.
Fat Quarters. Jelly rolls are really the cutest, and charm packs are great for a quilt with charm squares, but I think fat quarters are the most versatile and practical from that list. I certainly do have a lot more FQs than charms or strips in my stash, though a JR is very much a coveted item here.
I prefer a FQ because if it is a large print I can appreciate that print more and utilize it better. Thanks for the giveaway.
I tend to prefer fat quarters!
sazzyfrazz at gmail dot com
Recently I made something out of charms which was fun and new for me. But if I had a preference I would purchase fat quarters since it gives me more fabric and more choices of things to make with it.
I like them all but I collect FQ. Ice been a follower for sometime now. Love your blog.
I like to strip piece, so jelly rolls are the handiest for me lately.
I have not used the 10" squares although I would like to. I have used the 2.5" strips and have found them easy and fun to use. But I do like the fat quarters the best.
I am a follower. Thank you for the giveaway.
Have a super great sewing and stitching day.
I love the roll ups when I am working/quilting and creating gifts for others. When I am designing a quilt for myself I like fat quarters.
c . paints (at) yahoo dot com
10" squares!
carolann427@aol.com
I love to buy fat quarters when I can afford them. Fan4may at aol dot com
I used to buy FQ's but found they were either too small or too large for the project I was making. Jelly roll strips are great, but somewhat limiting, my preference on a pre-cut would definitely be the layer cake size. More variety than a FQ bundle, and more versatile than a jelly roll.
Fat quarters for me too. But i always get a charm pack so i can have samples to choose my fq from.
I'm a follower :)
Fat quarters.
layer cakes! already a follower. come follow me! http://heirloomquilting.blogspot.com
Right now I'm playing with 2 1/2" strips. They make really fast and easy quilts.
I'm a big fan of FQs....so much you can do with them!!!!
Doesn't mean I'm not partial to the others but in a list of most fave to least-most fave, FQ wins hands down!
thanks so much for the chance to win your wonderful giveaway
Wendy :O)
Love the fat quarter size best, and LOVE the thread, my favorite
Because of my 501 Quilt Block Project, fat quarters are my best choice.
Fat quarters suit me best. As a dollmaker and applique enthusiast, weird leftover shapes are my playground and fat quarters provide tons of fun.
I rather purchase FQs - I can pick and choose the ones I want and I find they are easier to use in projects.
Thanks for the chance to win Aurifil thread!!!
Love from Indiana! ~bonnie
I prefer fat quarters, but not so much the price
Fat Quarters
I am a follower ;)
I love fat quarters, they are my favorite. But, layer cakes are so great because of the many different prints.
I like fat quarters, but I use all of the pre-cuts. Pre-cuts are great for making baby quilts quickly. I also find lots of uses for layer cakes. Thanks for the opportunity to win some Aurifil thread -- I love Auriful!!
I prefer fat quarters, because they seem to be more versatile than some of the other cuts.
I love using the jelly rolls. Especially since there are now so many new books made to use jelly rolls.
I love pre-cuts, they're time savers for someone like me who works full-time. I would choose 10inch squares, as they can always be cut down to 5 inch charm squares. There are lots of cute patterns that use both.
I like them all but I think I prefer fat quarters.
thanks for a chance to win some thread.
My favorite precut is the 2 1/2 inch strips, because it is easier than cutting my own. I usually buy yardage and find it easy to cut my own fat quarters and squares from that. But I often buy charms when they are on sale. It's a good way to see all fabrics in a collection.
It all depends on what plans I have but mostly I like to buy fat quarters. They look so cute all lined up in the drawer. The only problem is that I hate to cut them so I have a huge stash of them. I am really trying to make myself use them more because after all that is why we buy them right?
My favorites are fat quarters. I have many patterns and books that call for them. only a few for the roll ups. I am a follower.
FQs are the best choice - much more versatile. Thanks for the great giveaway.
mi sono aggiunta ai seguaci e preferisco FQs tantiiiiiiiiiiiiii ciao ornella
It's easy! I would go for FQs. But I love yardage over all :-)
Layer Cakes (that's because I'm making a quilt with one) then Jelly Rolls. Fat quarters for the fabricthat just is so beautiful you can't live without.
I like FQs mostly, and strips come in handy, but the 10" squares have so many cutting combos that I think they win :)
I've had fun with the layer cakes and charm packs especially when grandgirls want to make something. They don't have to cut, just sew. They go home thrilled with their project completed. We just go to a shop, pick what they like and go home and sew. How easy to past down my love to they plus the memories.
oh, oh, oh I wanna play!!! How great it would be to be able to just stitch to your hearts delight just for the fun of it!!
BTW Love your new machine. I have a Bernina 440QE and I love that I can also embroider or just stich. Good choice!!
I mostly buy fat quarters. I've purchased jelly rolls and layer cakes, but only if I have a pattern I know I'll use with them. I don't buy them for my stash like I do with fat quarters. Thanks for the giveaway. Kathie L in Allentown
oh, oh, oh I wanna play!!! How great it would be to be able to just stitch to your hearts delight just for the fun of it!! I love precuts however the versatility of FQ's is where I put my money.
BTW Love your new machine. I have a Bernina 440QE and I love that I can also embroider or just stich. Good choice!!
Ignor my 1st post...please I had a boo boo and no seam ripper to rip it off of this page! LOL
I prefer FQ's among the ones you have selected. Very versatile. Thanks for a great giveaway.
I prefer jelly rolls. Thanks for the chance to win.
Fat Quarters for me! They've served me well for many years!
10 inch squares are great for a simple quilt but your options are more limited. Strips are luscious to look at but I would have to a particular 'strip project' in mind.
fat quarters - though need yardage at some point so not so many seams in binding and borders
would like to try aurifil thread
thanks for the chance to enter
I prefer fat quarters so I can mix and match them with my stash.
Hi I love using fq's you can do so much more with it or the larger yardage of fabrics. Would also like to win the aurifil thread from what I have seen it look good and feels great n the fabrics. Susie Taylor @ sueandgenetaylor@hotmail.com
I've never bought 10" squares and have only bought a few charm packs lately. I've only purchased homemade jelly rolls (at fairs) but I've yet to use them. I purchased quite a few FQ's and used many of them so I guess by default it's FQ!
I prefer fat quarters. You can do more with them.
I prefer fat quarter, and for second jelly roll.
Thanks for the chance
I prefer fat quarters
Hi Amanda, I like to buy fat quarters that way I have extra fabric unless it calls for a fat quarter. If I win send me some really bright colors.
I love any fabric....no matter what the shape or size is. Because my local shops rarely offer moda precut fabric, I usually only buy fat 1/4's or more yardage. I would like to try a jelly roll quilt. I'm glad I already follow your blog so I have the chance to win some thread. Thank you!!!
Fat quarters, though I also like jelly rolls (bought one today). Thanks for the giveaway! Happy long weekend.
While I love precuts for their accuracy (I am an unintentionally wonky cutter), I tend to buy yardage instead. FQ's are less expensive, I can mix them in with fabric from other lines for visual interest, and can focus on just the designs/color ways I especially like.
I prefer fat quarters, I have so many more options with them. However since you can't always get what you want I usually end up buying what the budjet allows when I see something I have to have.
I always go for the fat quarters, but lately I'm also buying charm packs, because I'm one of the peoplebuilding houses from scraps. I love colorfull projects so every FQ will be used in multiple quilts and other stuff. Yesterday I bought my first Aurifil 50 cotton spool and it patches perfectly, so it won't be my last purchase. Hope I win the give-away, love to test some more.
I've been leaning towards FQ lately. But I have a collection of jelly rolls as well. Layer cakes, not so much.
Mmmmm, thread to play with. Sounds lovely!
This is SO hard! LOL I love FQs, but I have to say that I like the roll ups the absolute best! Thanks for the chance to win!
I am your follower. I find I use pre cuts because they are affordable, but like others I love fat quarter bundles and I have more of them. Thanks for the cjance to win.
I love FQ and my favorite is the beautiful bright colors from the Veranda Collection. I've been a follower for sometime now. Thanks for the giveaway!!
Usually FQs but just last week I made my first fabric bowl and I'm hooked! So 2.5" strips are quite handy for that!
I like fat quarters best so I have more options of what to make with the fabric. If I know for sure what I'm going to make with the fabric when I buy it (not usually) and I know I need precuts, then I'll buy them, but thats not my norm.
I prefer fat quarters, though it depends on the project and what measurements it calls for. I'm already a follower. Thanks for the opportunity to win Aurifil.
Lroghair (at) aol (dot) com
I prefer FQ and 1/2 yards. They are more versatile.I have only bought a couple of jelly rolls and wish they were FQs.
Definitely fat quarters. You just get more bang for your buck!
I buy fat quarters and yardage most often. I love charm squares for having the whole line in my hand. I just learned the new jellyroll race quilt today and went and bought a jellyroll to make it with. I still haven't bought a layer cake. Thanks for the opportunity to win the Aurofil threads.
I tend to by layer cakes. I have a few favorite patterns for layer cakes and they come together quickly!
I follow you on GFC. No cut fabric here - just buy what we need from a bolt!
I love 10" squares the most! thanks!
Fat quarters for me! They're so versatile.
I LOVE fat quarters. They're more versatile. But, I've bought several jelly rolls and had fun using them. And for swapping with guild members and friends, charm packs are perfect. I think I love anything fabric! I am a follower already.
I think my favorite pre-cut is 2 1/2" strips, just judging by what I've been using! They're so versatile and you get a great mix of prints!
KZK
Although I am a fan of all pre-cuts, I adore fat quarters - they open up a world of quilting/sewing possibilities!
I LOVE fat quarters!
Thank you for the chance to play with some Aurifil!
I always buy fat quarters. I think I could probably 'get by' with 10 inch square packs, but I like the extra fabric insurance (and pretty extra scraps) that come with the fat quarter cuts!).
Of the choices listed I like fat quarters best. My very first choice is to buy yardage!
I'd always go for the FQs. I have a roll of strips that has been waiting a few years for inspiration, but it hasn't arrived yet.
I prefer fat quarters. I've used charm packs before, never a 10 inch and have a jelly roll waiting to be used.
Fat quarters mainly because we have been Buying them for so many years. I wonder when they started? I have only bought one 10" pkg and don't know what to do with it because I ordered it in the Internet without seeing the whole combo of fabrics. I liked the one on top.
I like to use fat quarters, I feel as if I can choose more project ideas to create with my fat quarters.
I'd have to say fat quarters are my fav! I like that you get more fabric to work with compared to a skinny strip!
I do applique so I love fat quarters! Lots of them!
From the options I'd say FQ's.. It gives me more versatility.. Unless I already have a project in mind. Generally speaking though I buy 1/2 - 1 yd cuts because then I don't worry about having enough : )
I must say I have a bit of a soft spot for FQ's, but can see the value in 10" squares, it's just they're usually out of my price range :o(.
Hugs
Naomi
I love Fat Quarters. You can do so much with them.
I love ther versatility of the fat quarter. Combine any fabric option with Aurifil and you have a winner.
Until know I prefer JellyRolls though I am quite new to quilting it was good to start with. But I guess I could be a friend of FQ too ;)
At first I was going to say fat quarters because they give you alot more options. They can always be cut down.
I did just get a new template to use on 2-1/2" strips to make hexagons. I need to try this out. Thought it might be a good way to use up some scraps.
I just found your blog and love, love, love it. Keep up the great work.
It's a close choice between fat q's and layer cakes ... but I like layer cakes most for the variety of prints ! Thanks for the chance to win !
I am a follower. I have used charm packs, jelly rolls and layer cakes. I think, though, that I prefer fat quarters because they are more versatile.
I love the 2-1/2 strips!! So many options with them. Love your patterns.
Sandy
Like most, FQ's would probably be my favourite, but there are lots and lots of quilts that work nicely with 10" squares. Our group make charity quilts, and layercakes are our preference. Thanks for the draw. I love aurifil thread.
Fat quarters for me!
I have been buying the 2 1/2 ' rolls but my daughter found a cute quilt that we made up that used the 10 1/2" squares Sew now I am tempted to buy those .
