This giveaway is now closed...
Tomorrow I am guest-blogging at Sew Sweetness, which is hosted by Sara in Chicago. She has lined up 30 days of fun sewing articles this month. I'll be talking about buttons and buttonholes - specifically how to use them on the back of pillows.
I "met" Sara this spring. After noticing that she faithfully commented on many of my blog posts I emailed her asking if she might want to test a pattern for my line. (Yes, be careful faithful commenters!) That pattern was Garden Paths, my best seller, so I thought that it was only fitting that I host a Garden Paths giveaway with this post. Not only am I giving away the pattern but I have one Veranda roll-up that I've saved for just this purpose.
To enter you must be a follower of this blog and leave a comment on this post telling me a big lie about yourself. (I must give credit to this giveaway idea to the very funny ladies of at Me and My Sister Designs. They did this a few months ago and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.) Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you should you win.
I'll start:
At a statuesque 5'10", I am a very relaxed person with absolutely no tendency towards obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Winner will be chosen using the Random Number Generator on Saturday
Make sure to hop on over to Sew Sweetness and say "hi" to Sara because she is having a giveaway on my entire pattern line - one more chance to win something fun!
Happy sewing!
Amanda
We could be twins!
ReplyDeleteI'm a calm and relaxed person who only works on one project at a time.
Okay, so I'll be number 1! I am quite the efficient person, extremely organized and always on time for every event. I am a fiend for fashion and am only dressed in clothing by the designer of the moment!

I am a total clean freak with a daily schedule so every room in my house gets cleaned weekly. Windows, refrigerator, oven, the works! Oh, and I iron the sheets! :)
ReplyDeleteI always know what I'm doing when I'm making a quilt. I'm very decisive when I select my pattern and fabrics, and never second-guess myself. I hate shopping for fabric and get in and out of the shop as fast as I can.
ReplyDeleteI am the most organized person you ever met and finish every single project in a timely fashion before starting another. Quick! Cover my grandchildrens' eyes!!!
ReplyDeleteOOOO, yummy fabrics and I love your pattern. I don't have one single unfinished quilting project in my sewing room. Actually, that really isn't a lie, I don't have ONE, I have many, LOL. Okay, I'll try again. I can't stand spending time in my sewing room. I'd rather do anything else - laundry, cooking, cleaning - anything but sewing!
ReplyDelete.I'm so comfy with my body that I do burlesque as Mimi Man-toya!
ReplyDeleteOk...I even made myself giggle. That was a whopper.
I speak 7 languages fluently and have a degree in rocket science.
ReplyDeleteI absolutey love my job because it keeps me out of the sewing room and away from all those fabrics and patterns that just make me unhappy!
ReplyDeleteI am young.
ReplyDeleteI love when people me, "how's the weather up there?" =P
ReplyDeleteOh, and I follow!
I'm a follower (truth) - now the fun part.. I'm a laid back person that can go with the flow and hates to make lists. ;)
ReplyDeletejmistok(at)gmail(dot)com
I always eat healthy and hate anything chocolate!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE being the center of attention. When my birthday rolls around, I want it to be all about me Me ME! My favorite pass-time is chatting on the phone with my mother-in-law. All her super drama stories about her and her friends are SO interesting. If I had a day where I could do anything I wanted without any responsibilities, I'd just exercise all day long. I follow nothing but workout and diet blogs. How I am a follower of this sewing blog I totally don't know.
ReplyDeleteOh, and N'Sync is the best band of all time.
I never procrastinate! I always complete work first and then make time to quilt, or read, or ..... I exercise daily and can still fit into my wedding dress--33 years later!
ReplyDeleteOh, this is so much fun (really)!
I am a follower of your blog...truth.
ReplyDeleteI am not slightly OCD or a HUGE fabric collector. I always finish a project before I start another. I have no UFOs!
I'd love to win...and that's the truth!
I am a lovely y9ung lady that loves to clean everyday and cooks gourmet meals for my husband for every meal. Getting into the sewinf room is hard since I really don't enjoy it much. That's a huge wopper.
ReplyDeleteI am a loyal reading of your blog - I subscribe via Google Reader
ReplyDeleteOkay, here is my big lie:
I am incredibly neat, hate to read and despise quilting :)
caribousmom (at) gmail (dot) com
My house is perfectly clean, my children are well-groomed, and my dogs are well-behaved. I exercise every day and never nap while the kids are at school! Lol.
ReplyDeleteNow for the truth: I am a happy

I am a young, but very experienced quilter. My family has had several generations of quilters in a row. My daughter is getting started at 13.

ReplyDeleteI love housework and I’d much rather scrub the floor than make a quilt!
ReplyDeleteI'm a follower. Thanks for the giveaway! :)
I drive my husband crazy because I am always picking up my things and tidying and organizing them. He also says I should buy more fabric because I don't have enough.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely detest chocolate and fabric!
ReplyDeleteNot only is my house completely immaculate but all of my quilting projects get cleaned. I have no idea what a UFO is if its not a Flying Sauser! Oh and my husband picks up after himself all the time...and even taught my 16 yo to clean her room!
ReplyDeleteI gag on chocolate. ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm the neatest woman and the best housekeeper in the world, and I like like a rug, too.
ReplyDeleteI'm a total slob who can't cook a thing without burning it. I'm my mother in law's favorite daughter in law. I adore snakes and all kinds of reptiles. When I quilt, I hate every second of it and always completely finish one project before starting another. And most important of all, I never, ever over spend my fabric budget!

ReplyDeleteI hate coffee :)
Thanks for the giveaway
I'm a follower (really) (no fooling). My sewing room is neat as a pin and I never have to pick up piles of fabric from the floor and stack them on the cutting table so my cleaning lady can vacuum. I always follow the Blue Bird motto that I learned as a little girl "I will learn to finish what I begin." Always.
ReplyDeleteI am not at all overwhelmed with all the projects I must finish before Christmas!
ReplyDeleteBest game for a room full of strangers at a party: Two Truths and a Lie (then the strangers have to guess the lie)
ReplyDeletetruth: I follow your blog
truth: I had my baby by myself in a bathtub after the hospital sent me home and my hubby was working grave yards.
lie: I have such a neat sewing room and it beautifully shows off my Barbie Doll collection. (I rival Teresa* when it comes to an organized sewing room.

ps thanks for the fun comments
I'm a doctor of fabricology who's currently working on the cure for quilting thumb and concurrently, embroidery eyestrain. In my spare time, I volunteer for Fabric for Humanity, which provides new material for families who are down on their fabric luck and need a boost to get back on track with their sewing.
ReplyDeleteI never quilt in my jammies!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the giveaway.
ReplyDeleteI'm a quilt designer and blogger. I began about 20 years ago and today I travel the world from the far reaches of Greenland to the South Pole sharing my designs and wonderful fabric with people around the globe!
I love it when my dogs eats all his food, burps in my face, drools foody drool on me, and farts every ten minutes. I also wish that he would poop on the floor more.
ReplyDeleteMy home is immaculately clean. I learned how to quilt so fast that after a two months I am an expert. My seams always match perfectly and I don't need a seam ripper so I threw it away
ReplyDeleteI follow this blog..truth.
My house is neat as a pin and dust free; no fabric scraps or threads on the floor! I cook gourmet meals nightly and never complain about my husband.
ReplyDeleteI am a very patient person and never tempted to buy fabrics I don't really need!

ReplyDeleteOh, and I hate sewing! (Do you love the alliteration?)
You want me to tell you something about me?
ReplyDeleteYou've not heard of me?
I'm so famous!!
I am a confident machine quilter and always know what to do best in every situation of life.
I always finish what I'm doing before I start a new project.
I am very organised: my desk is always clean and empty.
I dislike every fabric you've designed so far.
And the last detail I'll give you is that I live in the USA.
(and I never lie!)
I am wishing school didn't begin in a week... Its too soon, and I'd love the kids to stay home living our totally unstructured life we've had this month.
ReplyDelete(BTW, remind me in a month, that I really wanted the routine to start!)
I really don't want to win this, I don't like Vernanda at all!! OMG my heart is beating so fast after saying that...LOL. I follow you. Linda xx
ReplyDeleteI'm a great cook! My friends never forget a meal that I have prepared (the last is not a lie actually but it's for the opposite reasons that one might think. I think everybody still remember the red curry I tried about 10 years ago).
ReplyDeleteI follow you... naturellement :)And thanks for the opportunity to win. I really like the bright, happy fabric and already had the pattern bookmarked.
Although I'm throwing my hat in the ring for this fabric giveaway, I actually have a wonderful eye for color and do not need to rely on pre-coordinated fabric lines to make a decent quilt. For instance, the pink, blue, and purple batiks I picked out for my last quilt DID NOT end up looking like a giant bruise.
ReplyDeleteI can't understand why quilters would cut up perfectly good fabric, only to sew it back together again!
ReplyDeleteFabulous comments here! I quilt not because I love to but because so many people beg me to do so.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all I just hate your fabric and patterns, however I also live in a spotless house and would never think of eating a pint of ice cream a day. I guess that is why I wear a size 2 and am able to dress to the 9's every day, pj's and sweat pants are things I would never stay in for more that 10 mins after I get out of bed.
ReplyDeleteI hate sewing and consequently never buy any fabric!
ReplyDeleteCoincidentally I am also 5' 10" !!
I am a quiet person who hates speaking in front of others and would rather eat an apple than a piece of cake.

I am a happily married mother of 5 wonderful children. I gave up a promising career as a brain surgeon to be the spokesperson for "Fabric - stop buying it - don't create!"
ReplyDeleteHahaha I am a blonde bimbo model and I never ever hide from my kids so I can sew and quilt in peace!
ReplyDeleteToo funny!! I love the garden path pattern. What a design, and you have to love those jelly rolls! For me, I am super model material. NOT FABRIC MATERIAL With the patience of a saint! :-) Let me adjust my halo here...
ReplyDeleteI am a follower and I absolutely do not have 4 bins of fat quarters in color order in my garage!
ReplyDeleteHey! Thanks for the giveaway! Just FYI, I would NEVER skip church to sew up a quilt that is needed the next week. :-) Oh and I did NOT do that this weekend.
ReplyDeleteMy house is always neat and clean, everything in its place, the family well fed with delicious and healthy food! Nothing suffers as a result of my desire to create, and I do not suffer from a compulsion to acquire fabric and tools to express my creativity!
ReplyDeleteI just got back from my daily 8 mile run and saw your post. I had to comment before I whipped up a hot breakfast for my family, fed and groomed the dog, and packed our lunches for work. I love your fabrics! (at least that last part is true!)
ReplyDeleteI don't know what women see in George Clooney.
ReplyDeleteWhen I travel the world in my job as a super model, people often ask me, "why do you quilt?"
ReplyDeleteEver since I was a small child, I've been able to eat anything I like and never put on an extra pound. Been a size 8 all my adult life.
ReplyDeleteThx for the great giveaway.

ReplyDeleteI have a large, sunny studio with a giant design wall, where my sewing projects are carefully organized, and nothing is ever "out of place".
ReplyDeleteMy house is absolutely dust-free, spotless and completely organized. I would prefer to go to work, or work around the house cooking, cleaning, doing yard work than wasting time around a silly sewing studio cutting up fabric and sewing it back together!
ReplyDeleteI ALWAYS finish one project before I start on the next. I never buy fabric until I need it. I always remember where every piece of fabric is stored!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was younger, I never have been so drunk as to dance in an elevated cage in a 50's bar to the song "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Polka Dot Bikini".

ReplyDeletehmmm... how about ... I have no projects to work on ... ha!
Oh, Veranda is a line of fabric that I just dislike intensely, and I have never ever drooled over the Garden Paths pattern, with my mouse poised to click! Also, I am yet another member of this quilting community that is still slender and can fit in my clothes from college days.

ReplyDeleteIlove your patterns! Now, the big fib: I am only 22 years old, have made 17 quilts and speak 5 languages.
ReplyDeleteWe won't discuss looks because obviously my figure simply enhances my naturally flowing blond locks. What impresses everyone most, however, is how I can work a high stress full time job, keep the house spic and span, have a hot dinner on the table every night, jog 5 miles, and finish the evening by sewing in an immaculately maintained craft room, all with a cheery disposition and a perpetual smile. (Wow ... I actually put that into words without cracking up!)
