Charlotte Quilters Guild Class Sneak Peek!

I'm really excited because I'm developing a new class for the Charlotte Quilter's Guild for summer this year - and because it is July we are doing a "Christmas in July" theme! I'm incorporating multiple finishing options for different project options. I can't show they entire piece, but we will be working on strip piecing and applique and embellishing our projects with something a little special using templates I'm making with the Bernina Crystalwork tool. So excited!

This close-up shows the quilting I did using the Bernina Stitch Regulator simply following the swirls on the fabric, which was a Christmas line from a couple of years ago called "Ready, Set, Snow" from Me and My Sister Designs! All threads are from Aurifil! I like to use 28 wt. for the applique blanket stitch and 50 wt. for piecing and quilting.   I love Aurifil threads!

Happy sewing!
Amanda

I love the table runner! Your little tree is adorable. I really like my BSR too! Thanks for sharing.

This is lovely, Amanda! I love how you quilted the border swirls, and I REALLY love the large circles you quilted behind the tree. Is it still called pebbling when they are big circles? Are your circles about the size of quarters? I would think it's even harder to get big circles to come out round and smooth than little circles!

By the way, where and when will your Charlotte Quilter's Guild class be offered? I live in Charlotte -- is the class open to anyone, or do you need to be a member?

It will be offered July 11th in Charlotte on July 11th. No, you don't have to be a member to attend; non-members get charged an additional $10 to cover costs. You can contact the Charlotte Quilt Guild for more information. Thanks!

And the circles are the size of quarters, but there are some that are smaller and some that are larger. They aren't difficult, but I don't stress about making them all the same size or even completely circular!

I love Your table runner, Amanda! And the quilting is just perfect :)

We have a patchwork training soon. I'm very excited. It will be held 630km from my home. I'll write you about training when I get back home.
Hugs.
