Aurifil Giveaway

I hope everyone had happy, healthy holidays.

Let's start off the New Year in a fun way with a giveaway, sponsored by Aurifil threads!  Alex Veronelli, Product Manager for Aurifil, sent me an assortment of threads to giveaway, so I'll be giving away three bundles this time and another three next month.  Sound good?  (Incidentally, Alex just gave an interview about Aurifil threads over at Jolly Jabber - make sure to check it out.  Did you know that Aurifil threads are produced in an environmentally friendly way?)

To enter please leave comment on this post telling me about some quilty-related item that you are excited about creating this year or some product or new fabric line that you can't wait to use.  (Please become a follower if you aren't already.)  Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you should you win!

The deadline is this Friday, January 6th, at midnight.

Happy New Year with lots of sewing!
Amanda

I would love to try this thread. I have lots of quilty projects lined up - making a quilt for each of my 7 siblings this year for birthdays. Each will be a different design (many that I found online: Across the Sea quilt along, Color Brick quilt along, zig zag, diamonds, octagons, scrappy squares & rectangles, and 1 not-sure-yet. This thread would look great on these quilts!

I've been told by my friends who are long-arm quilters that aurifil thread is the best thread available so I'm excited that you are giving some away (thanks!). The number one item on my quilting list is a wedding quilt for my daughter. Also, the small quilt group to which I belong decided on several group activities for the year so I will be busily quilting in 2012.

Would love to be the winner and try Aurifil thread! I've heard so many good things about it! I'll be making a baby quilt for my granddaughter who is due to arrive in May!!

A few years ago, I started a quilt for our king-sized bed. Somehow, it got bumped down on the list whenever a new project with a deadline came along. So now I've made quilts for many people we love, but our bed still wears a store-bought comforter.

I've decided to get the pieces ready for sewing, and keep them in a box by the machine. Then, anytime I sit down to work on a quilt for someone else, I'll sew a block or two for us. While it seems like small progress, it will be vastly more progress than I've made since I set it aside. I feel so good about this plan, because I'll be demonstrating to my sweetheart that he is not a low priority.

Thanks for letting us know about Aurifil's environmental responsibility. That kind of choice is one I'm anxious to support.

First, I'd like to thank you and Aurifil for this giveaway. Last year, I purchased Blueberry Crumble to make a quilt for our family room. I also purchased my first spool of Aurifil for I had heard so many good things about it. I'm anxious and excited to get started and learn firsthand about Aurufil thread.

After making so many gifts I am anxious to make something to keep. I've just done some redecorating, so I want a new wall quilt that I can enjoy in my home.

I have lots of quilty goodness planned for this year... I'm working on a Harry Potter quilt for my son, I'm doing the Craftsy BOM, I've got plans for a quilt for my husband and myself, another for my daughter, a baby quilt for my new neice/nephew who is due to arrive in April.. I'm also participating in a Disappearing 9 Patch Swap and then of course, all the other things that will crop up as time goes by!

I'm also planning to learn how to FMQ this year, so I'm also doing SewCalCal's FMQ challenge. :)

And finally, I'm super excited to finally get to try out some Aurifil thread this year! ;)

I have been "collecting" various precuts over the past year or two and am finally feeling guilty that they haven't jumped up and made themselves yet! So, I'm super excited to try and get some of these future projects out of their current state and get some FINISHED!!!

Thanks for the awesome giveaway - I'd love to have some of this thread to use on future projects!!

OOOOOhhhh that's pretty thread. I'd love to run it through my needle :)
One quilty project I hope to do this year is a Terrier quilt. I have a Westie named Willie, and a Westie/Jack Russell mix (Jack Westie) named Bratley. Love, Love, Love my doggies :) I want to make a quilt with some Terrier type dogs doing "doggy things" like - playing with a ball, begging for a treat, chasing a butterfly, and maybe even tinkling on a fire hydrant :P - etc.
Thinking that would be a fun cute cuddly quilt.
Would love to use some of this pretty thread on it.
Thank you for the giveaway

I'm doing the civil war quilt General's Wives and actually had our first class today. Of course I'm starting off the new year with a new project, however, I'm going to make a big effort to get some (several) WIP/UFOs. I've also signed up to make some diaper covers for charity with Kristy at Hopeful Threads.

Thank you and Aurif for an awesome giveaway and a chance to win some great thread. Oh and I'm a happy follower.

In 2012 I want to improve my very limited FMQ skills using my sewing machine. Scary to try but I would love being able to make my quilts, start to finish. Thanks for the chance at some quality threads.

My first quilty project of the new year will be a kitty quilt for my uncle's new kitten Chloe! She needs a warm, soft place to call her own! I love, love, love Aurifil thread and have been using it exclusively for piecing for a few years now. It is simply the best, low-lint, strong and consistent quality. To win Aurifil thread would be a great start to 2012!

I have never used Aurifil 12 wt thread but am a huge fan of
50 wt. One of my upcoming projects is "How Does Your Garden Grow ?" by Crabapple Hill. It uses embroidery, crayon tinting and piecing.....a perfect place to try new threads!

The newest thing I'm trying is the Supreme Slider for free motion machine quilting. I've taken the Pledge at SewCalGal and I'm starting my practice. Leah Day's blog recommended this product. Thanks for the chance to win the Aurifil thread. I've never tried it, but I think it might come in handy.
