Sewing Back-To-School at Sew Sweetness and Garden Paths Giveaway
This giveaway is now closed...
Tomorrow I am guest-blogging at Sew Sweetness, which is hosted by Sara in Chicago. She has lined up 30 days of fun sewing articles this month. I'll be talking about buttons and buttonholes - specifically how to use them on the back of pillows.
I "met" Sara this spring. After noticing that she faithfully commented on many of my blog posts I emailed her asking if she might want to test a pattern for my line. (Yes, be careful faithful commenters!) That pattern was Garden Paths, my best seller, so I thought that it was only fitting that I host a Garden Paths giveaway with this post. Not only am I giving away the pattern but I have one Veranda roll-up that I've saved for just this purpose.
To enter you must be a follower of this blog and leave a comment on this post telling me a big lie about yourself. (I must give credit to this giveaway idea to the very funny ladies of at Me and My Sister Designs. They did this a few months ago and I thought it was absolutely brilliant.) Don't forget to leave me a way to contact you should you win.
I'll start:
At a statuesque 5'10", I am a very relaxed person with absolutely no tendency towards obsessive-compulsive disorder.
Winner will be chosen using the Random Number Generator on Saturday
Make sure to hop on over to Sew Sweetness and say "hi" to Sara because she is having a giveaway on my entire pattern line - one more chance to win something fun!
Happy sewing!
Amanda

I am a very talented quilter and secretly write this blog. I'm just signed in as my alias so I can secretly keep all of the prizes for myself.
alibear167 at gmail
I don't have a lick of gray hair nor do I have any UFO's hiding in my sewing room!! Thanks for a great giveaway!!
I am a new blog follower...
I LOVE spending 2 hours most evenings begging my angelic 3 year old to eat his dinner instead of working on my sewing projects. It's much more fun.
Even though I won the lotto last week I still go to my boring job every day... and I never wish I was sewing instead!
How lovely! I am a world explorer and learned to the joys of family and sewing from the indiginous people of Tanzania. I had orginally gone to explore Kilimanjaro, but took home a lifelong love of quilting. No matter where I roam, fabric in the states is far and away my favorite!
I have the worlds largest, well organized sewing room in the world.
I am super athletic and am currently training for my 10th Iron Man competition. I swim and run at least an hour each every day, and bike about 50 miles each day on the weekends - all year round.
In between 6 soccer practices/games a week, 2 businesses and a husband and 2 children, I get a full quilt done every week, including binding :) Wonderful giveaway, thank you so much.
I am NOT a fabricaholic. You can tell because fabric is not stacked/piled up halfway to the ceiling and about 4' from the wall. And, I would never think of keeping every little thread clipping or sliver of fabric for a "someday" project. I also hate fabric, and really hate that a lot of it was given to me for free--what were they thinking?
I always eat healthy, never chocolate. And, I exercise an hour a day.
I have the most beautiful, lush flower garden. The gentle breeze floating in the open window smells of roses, baby's breath and star jasmine. The Lilies are in brilliant bloom. The poppies are waving gentle, almost like a graceful bow as the hollyhock shiver with excitement over the peeping petunia's gentle scent.
I too am a young swimsuit model, I love to clean, I am not a hoarder, I spring clean every month and if it is not being used I give it away.
thanks for the great comp.
Wendy johnsonwd@optusnet.com.au
What a fun way to get to know someone! I am a totally organized person who has NO unfinished projects and the house is alway perfectly clean with dinner on time every night. Thanks for the fun!
I am thin and beautiful - oh and tall, very tall!!!
I am a follower!
I absolutely LOVE when I just finish cleaning up all of the toys in my living room, and my kids come behind me and take them all out again! ;)
Thanks for the great giveaway! :)
I absolutely LOVE housework and my home is always spotless. Come over anytime and see for yourself. Even my sewing room is immaculate, just ask my husband.
I don't like chocolate and always make doing housework my top priority before sewing!
I couldn't lie in bed straight!
I am not a interested on winning this giveaway!!
^^
I always beat my dog because she loves me to much. I hope that is enough to get me in. Thanks for the giveaway and have a great day.
I weigh exactly what it says on my driver's license AND that is my real hair color. LOL. Thanks for the chance to win such a cute jelly roll!
I don't have any quilt projects in the making for I get everything done straight away. No stash either! I'm also the best quilter in the world! Think I better plead the fifth!!
I am Wonder Woman. I always finish every project I start, my home is immaculate, my family eats only fresh from the garden and cooked from scratch healthy meals, I exercise daily, and am a supermodel in my spare time.
Aaaaah! Thanks for the fantasy time.
Have a super day!

I despise chocolate!
I love to clean, I do it all day long, and I never stress about anything! I hate sewing, would rather vacuum.
Truth: I have been a follower, love your fabric and patterns!
I NEVER wait until the last minute (or the day or three after) to mail out swaps.
Oh where is the beginning. Projects..I don't have any. Stash? What is that. Training for the 5K that is next month. I came in the top 5 last year. Will do better this year for sure! Procrastination is not my middle name. But I do follow your blog...that is the truth! Thanks for a chance to win.
I am not a fabric lover!!!
I missed reading this, so am late to the comments and can't take time to read them. For all I know, my "big lie" is already here! ...so, here goes, --- I have no UFO's --- I finish everything I start. (I'm waiting for lightening to strike!)
quiltschon@att.net
I hate tea, hate cookies, hate candy, especially swedish fish, hate ice cream, hate chocolate, especially caramels, hate scones and english muffins, hate good bread, and so on. And, no thanks for the giveaway:)
I am so pleased to be a part of this...Anything to keep me from sewing...damn that machine it sings my name - morning, noon, and night! Ear plugs do not work and this machine is out of control...
I always sew Perfect and I do not hoard fabric!
I don't even own a seam ripper. Why would I need one anyway? Every seam is absolutely perfect! hahahaha!
debgiro at wildblue dot net
I despise all forms of crafting. Why on earth do people think quilts and Mod Podge are cool? No people. Quit using that afghan your grandma made in 1952, go to JC Penney, and pay good money for something you didn't make, will tear up sooner, and have no sentimental feeling attached.
Oooh, these are funny! (truth) Hmmm, I never put on the television for my kids so I can sew...
I am a 5.12 rock climber with buns of steel. I finish everything I start and do not begin another project or buy any fabric until I am completely finished with what I have begun.
I always finish everything I start.
I never have more than one thing going at a time.
I never work on more than one prject at a time because I never have enough fabric! ha! That was fun. Thanks for the chance to win.
I do not have a room full of fabric. I'm efficient, organized and dislike shopping online. This is fun!
I am a follower. I am not OCD at all! I clean all the time and I have all the patience in the world!
I am a follower - I am very sociable person who is at ease in groups of people. I am able to easily join in on the conversation and I am the life of the party!
My house is always clean, my children are always well-behaved, and I always find time to sew and quilt!
ourbusylittlebunch(at)hotmail(dot)com
I absolutely LOVE to clean house! It's what I do all day long...dust, vacuum, laundry, mopping, scrubbing toilets...so much fun!!!
The truth, I love Veranda.
The lie, I have no desire whatsoever to make Garden Paths. It would be pure torture to have to make such a quilt!
I have never become obsessed with the idea of a new project to the detriment of anything else I've started. Actually, I've never NOT finished anything.... I have a home filled with handmade decorative touches.
Phew - that was fun. Thanks for the giveaway!!
I just turned 56 last week and I'm carrying George Clooney's love child!
I can't wait to go to work everyday and love the anticipation of the work week on Sunday nights!
I don't worry about anything...it's amazing how things don't bother me. Oh, and I ooze confidence in everything I do.
I am now a follower of your blog - true. I came here from Jolly Jabber - true.
I am not a beginning quilter and I do not have a quilt waiting to be quilted because I am afraid of messing it up!
andersonclanatmacdotcom
I am exceptionally organised, run a drama free and spotless house, never worry about small things and never have to unpick anything!
I love the Bubbles pattern! Fabrics are so bright and happy!
I am loud and rambunctious. I do everything I can to draw attention on my self.
I must have lots of clones out there, as I'm young, tall, and slim, too! Also, I never buy fabric unless I have a use for it, so I don't have a stash, whatever that is. I also complete everything I start,so don't have any unfinished projects in my clean and organized sewing room!
Got to say I love traveling for work, spending 11 hour days at the office, followed up by another two hours grinding away in the hotel room.
I always clean the house before I sew! And my stash fits in a shoebox!
I am a new follower.
Love your site and now for the comment. (this bit was NOT the lie)
I am a tall, confident, outgoing person who buys fabric whenever she likes, works like a slave (oh wait that bit is true, I just don't get paid).
Love this idea!
I do not have an addiction to coffee or shoes!
Thanks for the giveaway
I never have to clean my house because my 3 kids never mess it up.
I am glad my sewing room doesn't look like yours! LOL...seriously? Nice to meet you Amanda :)
I'm a follower who adores spiders and welcomes them into her home and car.
You`re my best friends and we spent our holidays in Paris.
Thansk for the fun giveaway.
I take the minimalist approach to my stash. I never buy any fabric without a specific project in mind, and I don't buy more than the required yardage.
Your pattern is gorgeous, as is the fabric. Like Sandie -call me crazy - said, I don't want to win this giveaway ;-D
I am blonde and buxom! I hate camping and my Yorkie! And I don't want to win!
I am a tiny person and the mother of 6 children who keep perfectly organized rooms. LOL - Man was that a whopper!
What a nice giveaway - I think this garden pattern is gorgeous( that is the truth)
Regards from Western Canada,
Anna
Hello, y'all. Let me introduce myself. I'm Annalee, 34 years old, a brilliant attorney, with a loving and attentive boyfriend who doesn't want to get married or even live together, everyone loves me even though I'm beautiful and I make perfect award-winning quilts in my spare time after skiing in the Alps and surfing in Hawaii.
I am a young woman of 29!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Marie
I hate chocolate and have not a one ufo.
Thanks for the giveaway!
We've had such lovely spring like weather lately! Why I could even sit outside and savor the cool air.
Thanks for the giveaway!
I am hopeless at quilting but hoping that I will get better after winning this giveaway!
Usha
usharaneem@yahoo.com
I cannot tell a lie. I really really do love your line of fabrics and patterns!!!
I absolutely THRIVE on drama and my DH ex makes sure we get our fare share of that. LOVE it!
Sorry, forget to say I'm a blog stalker now. I think they should call is stalking, not following. But that's just me. LOL
I'm the Queen of England basking in my millions and millions of dollars (pounds) and planning to spend the day at my local quilt shop.
I NEVER leave comments on great blogs! hehehe
I read 52 vampire fantasy novels per year, one each week. hehe
I start every day with a smile and a song, sort of like Snow White. Morning person, that's me! (Please, please do not verify this comment with my family.)
wordygirl at earthlink dot net
I'm a follower. I love this pattern!
I love being in large groups of people and small tight places.
I never start a new project until the last one is finished. I'm also a new follower(not the lie part) and am looking forward to reading your blog. Thanks for the chance.
Im tall with the longest, most beautiful legs you can imagine. Everybody envies my long curly brown hair. And Im always in control, my sewing room is always tidy and I certainly dont have too much fabrics - only enough for my next project which I, needless to say, never start before I finish my current one.
:o))
Hate, Hate going into a fabric store and touching every piece of fabric. Makes me nauseus...hahaha thanks for the chance to win
My daughter recently moved 1000 miles away (for a school internship). She left at 10:30 pm and drove through the night. I did not worry about her one bit, and slept like a baby all night long!
I am a follower!
Well, what can I say: I absoultly hate sewing and didn't major in clothing and textiles in college. I never leave one project to start another and I don't have at least 30 unfinished projects!!! And my husband DOESN'T think I have ADD either!!!
Now, really, I just discovered you through the Jolly Jabber, and oh my!! You could be my fabric taste twin!!! I LOVE your fabric lines and am going to become a stalker, oops, I mean follower of your blog!!! Have a great day!!!
I love this giveaway! I'm in a great mood right now because I just found out my mother-in-law is coming to town for a visit and we LOVE to see each other! She is the nicest lady ever :)
I never procrastinate, and I always think twice before buying a fabric I like. That's why I don't have a lot of fabric (lol, bigest lie ever)
Thanks for the chance to win.
I love cleaning house and I am so thrilled that my refrigerator decided to die this week!!
I'm a short petite, slender young woman and stay-at-home mom, very neat and organized and very athletic.
I would love to win your pattern and the fabric; they're intriguing and gorgeous!
Linda BigD (new follower)
Don't like this one little bit (insert large "humph")! I know that EVERYONE will be astounded by my efficiency and timeliness and the fact that I always stay in the lines!!!
P.S. I really do love your fabrics...just found your website/blog but will be a follower for sure!
My home is just like Green Gables with rolling fields, forested woodlands, and the ocean just over the hill. Keep those gorgeous designs a-comin'!
Well, I'm young and carefree and don't have a problem in the world. And I'm married to a wealthy tycoon and we travel the world! Oh and I have other people quilt for me!
Dona

Hard to think of just one big fat lie ... I have a very clean and organised sewingroom (yup that one has to be it)
I am a calm, cool and collected individual who is content with letting others lead and control every situation.
My furry children, Madison and Molly, will attest to these facts.
I am not in love with all of your fabric and patterns in the least!!!! Thanks, Amanda, for the opportunity.

I never try and complete a project as my husband rounds up the little one and tried to get us out the door, and chocolate and I never mix!
I never go shopping for fabric when I should be cleaning my house...or cutting the grass or dishes...
My sister is Michelle Obama...we grilled hot dogs last night in our backyard along with my brother-in-law Robert DeNiro, who loves roasted marshallows.
I love housework...when I want to really de-stress, there is nothing better to do than clean. Of course, my teen-aged boys leave me very little to do...but still...
I always finish one project before starting the other, never take over the dining room table, and post religiously to my blog. :)
I am the foremost Gnome-ologist in the world, millions follow my every word and consider me their Queen!
Thanks for the giveaway! I have finished every quilt I've ever started!

I think this a hoot!-I sew everyday-wishing! Thanks
Oh, how I'd love to win some fabric. My sewing room is so clean and I have nothing left in my stash area. What's a girl to do? So I'm entering any contest giving away fabric.

My sewing room is in perfect order.
I can always find enough time to quilt...hope I win with that lie.
Wow! such a lot of lies! I'm statuesque also. and I have NO fabric. I have no sewing machines. I hate to sew! ( boy are these lies!)
I am a petite woman who just started quilting and I just don't get why anyone wants to do this.
truthfully - I am new to your blog, fell in love with Veranda fabric, came here through Fat Quarter Shop
I'm actually older than Mathuzula...and I taught him/her how to quilt!
I'm a follower of your blog.
My email address, should I be super lucky enough to win your giveaway is on my profile.
hugs

I am extremely organized & my sewing room is set up just perfectly & I can find everything I ever need immediately! There are no toys on the floor in my house, the laundry is always done & put away, and the dust bunnies don't visit my house. Thanks for a funny great giveaway! :)
I usually use "cheater" patterns, they are so much easier because I don't like having a lot of extra material laying around!
I love this game (truth).
I have to sew with my shoes off.
Thanks for the fun:)
